Israel Continues Its Escalation in Southern Lebanon and Foils Infiltration of Hezbollah Militants

SadaNews - Israeli forces continued their airstrikes and assaults in southern Lebanon on Friday.

Four first responders from the "Islamic Health Authority" were announced to have been martyred and others injured early Friday due to an Israeli airstrike targeting a position held by the authority in the town of Hanawiya in the Tyre District of southern Lebanon.

Israeli warplanes and artillery carried out a series of attacks in various villages and towns.

On Thursday, Israeli forces executed more than 30 air and artillery strikes on scattered areas in southern Lebanon, resulting in one martyr and at least 9 others injured, amid ongoing Israeli escalation and violations of the ceasefire agreement.

The Israeli army announced early Friday that it had foiled an infiltration attempt by Hezbollah militants just hundreds of meters from the Lebanese border, noting that they were killed using a drone.

Since the announcement of the ceasefire on April 17, which entered into a 45-day extension earlier this week, Israel has continued to launch strikes it claims target Hezbollah and its elements, as well as carrying out demolitions and destruction in border areas occupied by its forces.

According to figures provided by the Lebanese Ministry of Health on Thursday, Israeli raids on Lebanon since the outbreak of war between Israel and Hezbollah on March 2 have resulted in the martyrdom of 3,089 people, including 116 first responders and health sector workers. For its part, Israel reported the death of 22 soldiers.
