Report: Trump's Statements May Be A Deceptive Plan to Conceal an Imminent Military Strike Against Iran
SadaNews - U.S. officials told The New York Times that President Donald Trump's public statements may be part of a deceptive plan, and that orders for military strikes could still be issued, as translated by SadaNews.
A U.S. military official stated that Iran has exploited the ceasefire to reveal dozens of ballistic missile sites that were struck, relocate mobile launch platforms, and adjust its tactics in anticipation of possible resumed attacks.
He added that many of Iran's ballistic missiles were launched from underground tunnels and facilities carved into mountains, making it extremely difficult for U.S. aircraft to completely destroy them. Therefore, the United States has focused on targeting the entrances to those facilities, resulting in their collapse and burial, without completely eliminating them. According to the official, Iran has now managed to reopen a large portion of these sites.
He noted that Iranian leaders, possibly with Russian assistance, have studied the flight patterns of U.S. fighters and bombers.
A U.S. official also stated that the downing of an F-15E and the damage to an F-35 showed that U.S. air tactics have become too predictable, allowing Iran to deal with them more effectively, according to SadaNews translation.
According to the same official, five weeks of war may have resulted in the removal of several Iranian leaders and officials, but in return, it has produced a more resilient and capable adversary.
He added that the Iranians have redeployed a large portion of their remaining weapons and munitions, and they are convinced that Iran can confront the United States, either by closing the Strait of Hormuz, targeting energy facilities in Gulf countries, or threatening U.S. aircraft.
The newspaper reported that Iran is preparing for a short but fierce war. It is expected to launch dozens or even hundreds of missiles daily, and Gulf countries must prepare for widespread missile strikes on their energy infrastructure, refineries, and ports. Another option is to close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait through the Houthis, according to SadaNews translation.
