Trump: Unsatisfied with the Latest Iranian Proposal Sent to Us
SadaNews - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that he is not satisfied with the latest Iranian proposal regarding negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
Trump added in statements to reporters: "We are currently negotiating with Iran over the phone, and we have made progress in the talks."
However, the U.S. president noted: "I am not sure that we will reach an agreement with Iran."
Iran presented a new proposal to the United States through Pakistan, aimed at putting an end to the war in the Middle East, according to official media in Tehran on Friday.
The official news agency "IRNA" reported: "The Islamic Republic of Iran submitted its latest negotiation proposals to Pakistan, as the mediator in the talks with the United States, late Thursday night," without additional details.
This comes as a source informed "Axios" that U.S. envoy Steve Whitcomb sent amendments to the Iranian proposal that includes the nuclear file in the agreement.
The source told "Axios" that America has demanded Iran not to resume any nuclear activity before the negotiations conclude, as well as urged Iran not to transfer any enriched uranium during the ongoing negotiations.
Earlier, the "Axios" website reported that Iran handed over a new proposal to mediators in Pakistan to present to Washington.
Moreover, CNN reported, citing Pakistani sources, that Iran might offer a revised peace proposal today, indicating that mediators expect a new response after President Donald Trump rejected the previous version.
The sources also mentioned signs of progress in the negotiations despite the ongoing ambiguity.
