Palestine Comments on Kuwait-Iraq Crisis and Calls for Resolution
SadaNews - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced that it is closely following the implications of the Republic of Iraq's submission to the United Nations of coordinates and a map related to the maritime areas between Iraq and Kuwait, emphasizing the necessity of respecting international law and the provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982, along with the relevant agreements signed between the two countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement issued today, Tuesday: "We reaffirm Palestine's steadfast position supporting Kuwait's sovereignty over all its territories in accordance with international law," stressing the importance of resolving the dispute between the two brotherly countries through direct dialogue, based on the rules of international law and respect for the sovereignty of states and the principles of good neighborliness, which would enhance the fraternal relations between Arab countries, preserve the interests of their peoples, and contribute to the establishment of security and stability in the region.
