Doha.. Start of a Closed Ministerial Meeting on the Eve of an Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit
SadaNews - On Sunday, a closed preparatory ministerial meeting commenced in Doha, on the eve of an Arab-Islamic summit discussing the Israeli aggression against Qatar.
The foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League began the meeting in Doha, chaired by the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, according to Qatar News Agency "QNA".
Qatari channel "Al Jazeera" reported that the meeting began closed.
The main session of the meeting will discuss drafting a statement to be submitted to the Arab-Islamic summit in Doha tomorrow, Monday, regarding the Israeli aggression against Qatar.
Simultaneously with the meeting, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio began a visit to Tel Aviv on Sunday, a day after he confirmed that the attack on Doha would not affect relations between his country and Israel.
On Tuesday, the Israeli army launched an air strike on the leadership of the "Hamas" movement in Doha, which Qatar condemned, affirming its right to respond to this aggression that killed a member of the Qatari internal security forces.
Meanwhile, "Hamas" announced that its negotiating delegation, led by its head in Gaza Khalil Al-Hayya, survived an assassination attempt, while the director of his office Jihad Al-Labid, his son Hummam Al-Hayya, and three companions were killed.
The attack targeted a meeting of "Hamas" leaders while discussing a new proposal presented by the United States to reach an agreement between Israel and "Hamas" for prisoner exchange and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli aggression against the sovereignty of Qatar has drawn Arab and international condemnation, with calls for the need to deter Tel Aviv to stop its violations of international law.
This attack on Qatar came despite its role in mediation, alongside Egypt and under U.S. supervision, in indirect negotiations between "Hamas" and Israel to reach an agreement for prisoner exchange and a ceasefire.
With this attack, Israel has expanded its aggressions in the region, having launched an aggression against Iran last June and committing ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank for nearly two years, while conducting airstrikes on Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen.
