The Cabinet issued a series of decisions.. Mustafa: Israel does not want to see a Palestinian state

SadaNews - Prime Minister Dr. Mohamed Mustafa affirmed that "Israel does not want to see a Palestinian state, and it is fighting our people through killing, destruction, and economic blockade, and this is what must be confronted," stressing the continuation of "efforts to recover our withheld funds and secure additional financial resources, whether to cover the government’s financial obligations or to implement development projects that improve the quality of services provided to our people, as obtaining our withheld funds is the main way to achieve financial stability." He added.

Mustafa pointed out during his speech at the opening of the weekly Cabinet session today, Tuesday, the importance of the outcomes of the international conference to embody the Palestinian state in New York days ago, with the participation of representatives from 128 countries and international institutions, considering it a pivotal moment followed by communications from many countries with the President announcing their intention to recognize the state of Palestine during the UN General Assembly meetings next September," expressing gratitude to all countries and international organizations participating in the conference, especially the conference presidents and committee heads.

Mustafa continued: "Day by day, the world's conviction grows that there is no alternative to embodying the Palestinian state as a radical solution to the conflict in the region, and that the delay in enforcing international will in implementing hundreds of international and legal decisions, and Israel's continued impunity, has led to the situation our people face today of killing, starvation, and displacement."

In light of the outcomes of the international conference in New York, the Prime Minister referred to the President's directives to intensify work and communication with countries that have not yet recognized, to urge them to recognize the state of Palestine, support the conference’s outcomes, and follow up on the implementation of the annex to the final statement, and work to form a governmental team to convert the contents of the annex into practical projects, whether logistical or economic, to be completed within a specific timeframe.

Mustafa said: "We will continue to work on mobilizing financial support to implement a large number of vital projects in the fields of: clean energy, digital transformation, supporting municipalities, and sectors of health, agriculture, education, and others. In this context, we signed three memorandums of understanding with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in New York: the first in the field of digitizing the educational process and developing education, the second in the field of digital transformation and electronic government services, and the third in the field of developing the capabilities of government staff and training them, which contributes to improving the quality of government performance and services provided to our people."

Mustafa also reaffirmed the ongoing intensive efforts to successfully hold the reconstruction conference in Gaza in cooperation with our brothers in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the donors' conference under high-level international sponsorship, to rebuild the Gaza Strip and the West Bank including Jerusalem, to ensure the presence and resilience of our people on their land in the face of plans for displacement, annexation, and confiscation.

In a related context, the Cabinet discussed the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the escalating attacks by settlers on villages and towns in the West Bank including Jerusalem, calling on the international community to activate all international pressure tools to stop the spread of famine in the sector, and to resume the entry of aid shipments on the broadest scale, while expressing, at the same time, gratitude to all countries, international organizations, and institutions that continue their efforts to assist our people in the sector.
