Hamas: We Have Reached Acceptable Approaches Regarding Weapons and Sensitive Issues

SadaNews - Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem stated on Tuesday evening that the Palestinian factions and mediators have reached acceptable approaches regarding the sensitive issues of the ceasefire agreement during the current round of dialogue in Cairo.

Qassem explained in a press statement that the Palestinian factions dealt with flexibility and positivity towards the mediators' approaches during the Cairo dialogue, driven by their national responsibility to stop the genocide in Gaza.

He added: The ball is now in the occupation's court and the Peace Council to start a real and complete implementation of President Trump's vision for peace in Gaza.

He continued: The transition to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement depends on the ability of the mediators, the guarantor states, and the Peace Council to obligate the occupation to stop violations and accept these approaches.

Sources had predicted that an agreement would be announced regarding the Palestinian factions' approval to restrict weapons within the Gaza Strip gradually, according to a timeline agreed upon by the parties involved in the talks, according to SadaNews sources.

Informed sources told SadaNews that this announcement comes after a series of intensive meetings that began on Saturday and continued until dawn on Tuesday, with the participation of 8 Palestinian factions, in the absence of the Fatah movement.

The talks, described as positive, were attended by the Prime Minister and Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani, alongside the Turkish and Egyptian intelligence ministers.

Discussions focused on the "roadmap" consisting of 15 items, which had been presented by the UN Special Representative for Gaza Nikolai Mladenov to the Hamas movement last April, to serve as the basis for new understandings.
