Grand Mufti: Eid al-Adha will be on Wednesday, May 27
SadaNews - The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, Chairman of the Higher Council of Fatwa, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, announced that it has been confirmed through legitimate means that Monday, May 18, 2026, is the first day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah for the year 1447 AH. Accordingly, Tuesday, the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH corresponding to May 26, 2026, will be the day of Arafah, and Wednesday, the tenth of it corresponding to May 27, 2026, will be the first day of Eid al-Adha.
The Mufti Hussein called upon God Almighty to make it a blessed Eid, filled with goodness, prosperity, and blessings for Muslims, and to return it to us with the land of Al-Isra and Al-Miraj liberated from the oppression of occupation.
