Bazshekian to Pakistan: We seek friendly relations with Gulf countries

SadaNews - After a meeting lasting about an hour and a half, Iranian President Masoud Bazshekian confirmed to Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi that his country seeks sincere and stable relations with the countries of the region.

Bazshekian stated today, Sunday: "We strive to develop friendly relations with the Gulf countries while the U.S. and Israel are trying to stir division," according to Iranian media reports.

He also considered that "the enemies of his country have attempted to transfer chaos into Iran," adding that "the goal of the U.S. and Israel in attacking his country was to topple the regime, but they did not expect that the people would support their regime," as he put it.

Additionally, Bazshekian expressed to the Pakistani Interior Minister his hope that his country's efforts would contribute to enhancing peace in the region.

Meeting with Ghalibaf

Naqvi also met with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqir Ghalibaf, who also served as the chief negotiator in the first round of U.S.-Iran talks held in early April in Islamabad.

These statements came as the Iranian army reiterated its threats to respond more forcefully to any new U.S. attack, hinting at targeting U.S. assets and bases in the region through various means.

These remarks also came after U.S. President Donald Trump warned that Iran faces a very difficult choice if an agreement to end the war is not reached, mentioning "the calm before the storm."

Moreover, informed American sources revealed that Trump is considering his options regarding Iran, whether by resuming strikes or increasing economic pressure, with the possibility of reactivating the "Freedom Project" in the Strait of Hormuz, in order to direct commercial vessels in the strategic waterway.
