Katz: We Support Diplomatic Efforts with Iran and Prepare for the Return of War
Translation by SadaNews - Israeli Army Minister, Israel Katz, stated on Thursday that Israel supports the diplomatic effort and provides the necessary support in dealing with Iran, but at the same time may soon need to return to military action to ensure that objectives are met.
Katz claimed at a ceremony for the Israel Air Force that Iran has suffered very severe blows since last year, which have set it back years across all fields.
He said, as SadaNews translated, that the challenges we face will only increase, and alongside that we have historic opportunities to change the regional reality.
He noted that there is complete coordination between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, aiming to complete the campaign and achieve its goals in a way that ensures Iran does not become a threat to the existence of Israel and the United States.
Katz addressed the battle in Lebanon, stating: "We are in a battle with Hezbollah in Lebanon, which is an organization backed by Iran and aims to threaten and harm the residents of the north and destroy the State of Israel."
He added: "Hezbollah has suffered very severe blows over the past two and a half years and also during the Lion's Roar Operation, and now under the regional conditions, we must complete the mission to ensure the removal of the threat from the residents of the north and from the State of Israel."
He continued: "The Air Force has a crucial role in achieving these goals... We will work to destroy all terrorist infrastructure in the buffer zone up to the yellow line above and below ground just like we did in Gaza, to remove the threats from the Galilee residents and we will crush Hezbollah's capabilities throughout Lebanon."
