Occupation Forces Storm Aid Ships Heading to Gaza in International Waters Near Greece

SadaNews: The organizers of a fleet of aid ships heading to the Gaza Strip announced today, Thursday, that the Israeli occupation authorities stormed ships in international waters near Greece.

The organizers stated that the storming of the aid vessels bound for Gaza represents a worsening of Israel's impunity.

The "Global Solidarity Fleet" initiative clarified that Israel seized the ships hundreds of miles away from Gaza.

It stated in a statement: "This is piracy and illegal detention in open sea near the island of Crete, confirming that Israel can operate with total impunity, far from its borders, without facing any consequences."

It is noteworthy that a second fleet carrying humanitarian aid set sail for Gaza from Barcelona, Spain, on April 12 to attempt to break the siege imposed by the Israeli occupation.

Where and when did the fleet set sail?

The "Spring Mission 2026" launched with about 39 boats that sailed from the city of Barcelona, Spain, on April 12, where organizers planned to include more than 100 ships and boats setting out from various ports in Spain, Italy, and Tunisia.

Last Saturday, April 25, the ships arrived at the port of Syracuse in Sicily, departing the next day with 56 ships from the Italian port of Augusta, preparing to head towards Gaza.

Maritime data from the "Marine Traffic" site showed the movement of ships associated with the Global Solidarity Fleet in the eastern sector of the Mediterranean Sea.
