Airstrikes on Towns in Southern Lebanon, Hezbollah Responds with Explosive Drones

SadaNews - The pace of Israeli military escalation in southern Lebanon continues, amid an increasing threat to the continuation of the fragile truce announced through U.S. President Donald Trump, as strikes are exchanged between Israel and Hezbollah.

The Israeli Air Force has intensified its airstrikes on southern towns, targeting sites and residential areas, while Hezbollah continues to respond by targeting the infiltrating Israeli army forces and their vehicles within the border territories, without launching missile attacks towards Israeli settlements.

Israeli Security Minister Israel Katz announced instructions to destroy what he described as military infrastructure in southern Lebanon up to what is known as the "Blue Line," indicating an expansion of military operations.

On the ground, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli airstrikes targeted the city of Khiam in the Marjeyoun district, coinciding with an explosion carried out by Israeli forces in the town of Naqoura in the southern region.

In another development, the Israeli army announced that a soldier was lightly injured due to a drone attack in the south, while also confirming that it targeted infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah, as well as eliminating three operatives it claimed were enhancing shooting operations.

Israeli airstrikes also targeted Lebanese Civil Defense crews, resulting in the deaths of three of them while attempting to rescue injured individuals trapped under the rubble of a building in the town of Majdel Zoun in the Tyre district.

In response, the Israeli army announced the death of a bulldozer driver and the injury of his son due to a drone attack launched by Hezbollah during demolition work in the area.

Politically, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam condemned the targeting of Civil Defense crews, with Salam stating that what happened represents a "new war crime," amid the escalating tension and widening clashes in the south of the country.
