Ministry of Energy: Global gasoline prices of both types rise by 27.4% in the second week of March
SadaNews - Fuel prices experienced a notable rise during the second week of March, according to the global price bulletin, amid varying increases that included gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and fuel oil, while the price of liquefied petroleum gas remained stable.
According to data published by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the average price of gasoline (Octane 95) increased to $1169 per ton, compared to $902 in the first week of the month, representing an increase of approximately 29.6%.
The average price of gasoline (Octane 90) also rose to $1073 per ton, compared to $857 in the first week, with an increase of 25.2%.
The price of diesel recorded an increase to $1271 per ton, compared to $988, with a percentage increase of 28.6%, while the price of kerosene rose to $1346 per ton from $1290, with a 4.3% increase.
In a related context, the price of fuel oil jumped to $752 per ton compared to $566, marking the highest percentage increase among fuel derivatives at 32.9%.
In contrast, the average price of liquefied petroleum gas remained stable during March at $541 per ton, unchanged from its levels in February.
As for crude oil, the average price of Brent crude rose in the second week of March to $96 per barrel, compared to $85 in the first week, representing an increase of 12.9%.
