"Education and Higher Education" Denies Curriculum Rumors and Confirms Commitment to UNESCO Standards

SadaNews - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education confirmed that much of what is being circulated on social media regarding the Palestinian curricula is primarily related to examples and evidence that the occupation has altered in the curricula of schools in Jerusalem, the holy city and capital of the State of Palestine, within the framework of the policy of Israeliization of the city.

The ministry stated in a statement issued today, Saturday, that some foreign-funded media outlets have deliberately sought to confuse commitments made by the State of Palestine to align the educational system with UNESCO standards, with the fabrication of examples that do not actually exist in the Palestinian curricula, claiming that they have been changed, or bringing examples from Palestinian books in Jerusalem that the occupation has altered.

The ministry emphasizes its full commitment to UNESCO standards for quality education and its efforts to implement a comprehensive educational system aimed at developing the educational process, building cumulatively on the achievements made over the past years, as it has started this year by experimenting with dozens of interactive schools, culminating in conducting the Tawjihi (secondary school) exam over two years according to a new system based on specialization, in addition to developing the teaching profession and other elements of the comprehensive plan to modernize the educational system and align it with international standards and the demands of the labor market and its rapid developments.

The ministry called on various media outlets and citizens to be accurate and to avoid publishing or circulating incorrect information that is backed by suspicious platforms and accounts, aiming to incite public opinion and internal agitation, stressing that the textbooks in the hands of students are ample evidence of this.
