The general Producer Price Index recorded a sharp increase of 22.20% during March 2026 compared to February 2026, reaching an index of 229.71 in March 2026 compared to 187.97 in February 2026 (base year 2019 = 100).
The Producer Price Index for domestically consumed goods during March 2026
The Producer Price Index for goods consumed locally from domestic production saw a sharp increase of 23.16%, reaching 240.96 during March 2026 compared to 195.65 in February 2026 (base year 2019 = 100).
The Producer Price Index for exported goods during March 2026
The Producer Price Index for exported goods from domestic production recorded an increase of 7.20%, reaching 124.67 during March 2026 compared to 116.30 in February 2026 (base year 2019 = 100).
Movement of Producer Prices within Main Activities during March 2026
Prices of goods produced from agriculture, forestry, and fishing activities, which constitute a relative importance of 29.94% of the producer basket, recorded a sharp increase of 37.16%. This was due to a sharp rise in prices of goods within the fishing activity by 77.04%, and prices within the non-permanent crop cultivation activity by 60.33%. The average prices for each of the following were: cauliflower 4.05 NIS/kg, spinach 2.17 NIS/kg, tomatoes (greenhouse) 10.65 NIS/kg, hot green peppers 18.34 NIS/kg, sweet green peppers 6.03 NIS/kg, molokhia 15.45 NIS/kg, greenhouse cucumbers 4.95 NIS/kg, zucchini 6.65 NIS/kg, eggplant 9.16 NIS/kg, okra 61.58 NIS/kg, green beans 9.74 NIS/kg, dry onions 3.15 NIS/kg, potatoes 3.23 NIS/kg, and dry garlic 10.48 NIS/kg, despite the decrease in average prices of: local green beans 1.94 NIS/kg, and green onions with leaves 4.46 NIS/kg.
Prices of goods within animal production activities increased by 6.24%, with average prices for each of the following being: live local lamb 47.31 NIS/kg, live local calf 25.81 NIS/kg, live local goat 37.84 NIS/kg, and live broiler chicken 12.39 NIS/kg, despite the decrease in average price of eggs at 10.91 NIS/carton (size 2 kg).
Prices of goods within permanent crop cultivation activities increased by 4.80%, with average prices for each of the following being: grapes 7.10 NIS/kg, oranges 3.13 NIS/kg, clementines 2.94 NIS/kg, lemons 4.65 NIS/kg, and pomelo 3.84 NIS/kg.
Prices of goods produced from manufacturing activities, which constitute a relative importance of 58.92% of the producer basket, recorded an increase of 2.20%. This was due to an increase in average prices of goods produced within the following activities: flour mill products by 64.66%, chemicals and chemical products by 3.66%, bakery products by 3.03%, prepared animal feed by 1.32%, meat processing and preservation by 1.15%, and basic iron and steel by 1.13%, despite the decrease in average prices of goods produced within the following activities: oils and fats production by 2.90%, and glass and glass products by 1.90%.
Prices of goods from mining and quarrying activities, which constitute a relative importance of 1.41% of the producer basket, increased by 0.88% during March 2026 compared to the previous month.
Prices of water supply and wastewater management activities, which constitute a relative importance of 1.50% of the producer basket, increased by 0.36% during March 2026.
Meanwhile, prices of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supplies, which constitute a relative importance of 8.23% of the producer basket, remained stable during March 2026 compared to the previous month.
