SadaNews - The Palestinian High Council for Green Building awarded a "Gold Level Green Building" certification to the Central Archive Building of the Palestinian Islamic Bank in accordance with the Palestinian evaluation system.

The Central Archive Building received this certification after meeting the approved criteria for sustainability, energy efficiency, and resource management.

The General Manager of the Palestinian Islamic Bank, Dr. Imad Al-Saadi, stated that the bank's attainment of this certification affirms its commitment to environmental protection in its policies and operations, stemming from the sustainability policies implemented at the bank. He emphasized that adopting environmentally friendly technologies and using energy and water-saving systems directly contributes to reducing the bank's carbon footprint, reflecting its vision of building facilities that achieve a balance between high functional performance and environmental preservation.

Dr. Al-Saadi added: "The Central Archive Building reflects our deep commitment to sustainability and is designed to be a model for institutions seeking to preserve the environment in their operations, as it is built to the latest specifications for environmentally friendly green buildings, including modern technologies for energy conservation, generation, and recycling using advanced solar energy solutions. It is also equipped with technologies for rainwater collection, in addition to the use of insulation materials in construction that reduce energy consumption levels."

The Central Archive Building is considered the latest of its kind in Palestine as it is also equipped with advanced electromechanical systems that ensure its resistance to fire and humidity, regulate temperature levels, and provide good ventilation, as well as the latest automated sorting and archiving systems.

Since 2014, the Palestinian Islamic Bank has increasingly relied on clean energy to obtain the necessary energy for the operation of its branches and facilities, driven by its concern for environmental preservation and its rising commitment to environmental governance standards.
