85 Minutes Between Trump and Putin.. What Happened in the Call?
SadaNews - The Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin made a phone call to his American counterpart Donald Trump, during which the two leaders discussed the situation in Ukraine and a number of international issues, ahead of the NATO summit scheduled in Ankara.
Yuri Ushakov, the Russian president's aide for foreign affairs, stated that the conversation lasted one hour and 25 minutes, describing it as "very constructive and operational."
RIA Novosti quoted Ushakov saying that the presidents "naturally addressed the issue of reaching a settlement in Ukraine, taking into account especially Donald Trump's upcoming participation in the NATO summit in Turkey on July 7 and 8."
The Kremlin pointed out that the leaders emphasized the importance of respecting the shared history and alliance between Moscow and Washington during World War II.
Ushakov clarified that the call began with Putin congratulating his American counterpart and the American people on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the United States' independence.
He said: "The phone call that took place today between the two heads of state began with President Vladimir Putin personally congratulating Donald Trump and the entire American people on this important occasion, recalling Russia's contribution to the development of the American state."
Earlier on Saturday, Kyiv announced that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also made a phone call to Trump.
