Iranian Ambassador: Friendly Countries Will Receive Special Treatment in Hormuz
SadaNews - The Iranian ambassador to China emphasized that a "service fee" will be imposed on ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz, while also pledging that "friendly" countries will benefit from special treatment.
Iranian Ambassador Abdul Reza Rahmani Fazli said at the Global Peace Forum in Beijing: "As a country that has part of its territorial waters in the Strait of Hormuz, we will definitely impose a service fee," stressing that this would not be a "transit fee" in the literal sense.
He added: "These new arrangements will relate to ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz and overseeing the movement of ships... as well as addressing the environmental repercussions of the massive number of ships."
He stated: "We will certainly consider special treatment for the countries that have been our friends and stood by us, especially during difficult times."
