North Korea Seeks to Expand Its Nuclear Power
SadaNews - The Korean Central News Agency reported today, Friday, that North Korea has decided to take measures to strengthen its nuclear forces "in terms of size and quality," with the country’s leader Kim Jong Un calling for the modernization of military capabilities.
The agency stated that these measures and Kim's remarks came during an expanded meeting of the Central Military Commission of the ruling Workers' Party on Thursday.
According to the report, Kim stated that North Korea's security and "real peace" can only be achieved through building a strong army capable of countering all threats.
The agency noted that the meeting outlined plans to renew the technical infrastructure of combat systems, expand and enhance nuclear capabilities, unify standards in military bases, and modernize them.
