Trump: Enriched Iranian Uranium Will Be Destroyed or Transferred

SadaNews - President Donald Trump stated that the enriched Iranian uranium will either be transferred to the United States for destruction or destroyed at its location within Iran, as part of the ongoing negotiations regarding a potential agreement to end the war with Tehran.

Trump wrote on his platform "Truth Social" that the enriched uranium will be "immediately" delivered to the United States for destruction there or destroyed on-site in coordination with the Iranian side, noting that the process should occur in the presence of a "nuclear energy commission or its equivalent."

It was unclear whether Trump was referring to a specific U.S. agency or the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, nor was it evident if his statements reflect an agreement that has been reached or a negotiating demand or an American vision within the ongoing talks.

The fate of Iran's stockpile of highly enriched uranium, estimated at about 400 kilograms, is one of the central points of contention in the negotiations between the two sides.

Previously, Trump had stated that a framework agreement with Iran "has been largely negotiated," indicating progress in the talks, despite ongoing disputes over key details.

In the same context, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that any final agreement must ensure "the elimination of the Iranian nuclear threat," including dismantling uranium enrichment facilities and transferring stockpiles out of the country, emphasizing that he discussed this position with Trump during a recent phone call.

These statements come at a time when diplomatic efforts are ongoing to reach a new nuclear agreement, amid clear differences in the positions of the parties involved regarding the future of the Iranian nuclear program.
