Prime Minister Discusses with Khan al-Ahmar Residents Strengthening the Resilience of Threatened Bedouin Communities
SadaNews - Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa discussed today, Monday, in his office in Ramallah, with a delegation from Khan al-Ahmar ways to strengthen the resilience of the residents in facing the dangers of forced displacement and the ongoing targeting by the occupation and settlers, in the presence of the head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Muayad Shaaban, and the head of the Land Authority, Alaa al-Tamimi.
The meeting reviewed the difficult conditions faced by the residents of Khan al-Ahmar and the surrounding Bedouin communities, amid the escalating assaults and Israeli measures aimed at emptying the area of its original inhabitants, as part of colonial plans targeting the geographical and demographic reality around Jerusalem. At the same time, various relevant authorities were directed to provide all possible needs for the residents of the community to enhance their resilience.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the issue of Khan al-Ahmar and the Bedouin communities represents a priority for the government, stressing the continuation of providing basic needs and necessary services, supporting employment programs and development projects, in addition to directing relevant authorities to follow up on the needs of residents in the health, education, agriculture, and renewable energy sectors, so as to strengthen the resilience of citizens and their attachment to their land despite ongoing violations.
Mustafa warned of the danger of colonial plans, foremost among them the "E1" project, aimed at separating Jerusalem from its Palestinian surroundings in the West Bank and fragmenting Palestinian geography, which undermines the chances of establishing a geographically connected Palestinian state. He reiterated his commitment to continue political, diplomatic, and legal efforts to garner broader Arab and international support for the residents of Khan al-Ahmar and expose the occupation's policies aimed at displacing the population in favor of colonial expansion.
The meeting emphasized the importance of intensifying official, popular, legal, and media efforts to protect Khan al-Ahmar, enhance the resilience of its inhabitants, and keep their cause present before the international community in the face of occupation and colonial plans.
