Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman: No One Can Say We Are Close to an Agreement
SadaNews: The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that discussions about nearing an agreement are inaccurate, pointing out that some files have seen significant progress, but this does not mean that signing is imminent.
He clarified that efforts are ongoing to reach the best solutions that guarantee the country's interests, emphasizing that Iran chooses the timing of its response to what it describes as the "enemy" as it has done in the past.
He added that the current phase is not related to the nuclear file but is focused on ending the war, stressing that there are no guarantees for Washington's commitment to its promises, and that Tehran does not care about threats as much as it focuses on protecting its interests.
He noted that recent changes in positions came as a result of mediation by Pakistan and other countries, and that among the proposed points is the inclusion of a ceasefire against Lebanon in the agreement.
He also pointed out that Washington changes its positions repeatedly and sometimes within a few hours, while Iran is in contact with the countries bordering the Strait of Hormuz to ensure its security and protect its interests.
He affirmed that any aggressive step will be met with an Iranian response, calling on the European Union to adhere to international laws, holding the aggressor responsible for the tensions that may lead to the closure of the strait.
