Wide Islamic and Arab Condemnation of "Somaliland" Opening Embassy in Occupied Jerusalem
SadaNews - Foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia, Djibouti, Somalia, Palestine, Oman, Sudan, Yemen, and Lebanon condemned the step described as "illegal and unacceptable," which involves the so-called region of "Somaliland" opening an alleged "embassy" in the occupied city of Jerusalem, in blatant violation of international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions, which directly affects the legal and historical status of the occupied city of Jerusalem.
The ministers confirmed in a joint statement their total rejection of any unilateral actions aimed at "entrenching an illegal reality in the occupied Jerusalem or granting legitimacy to any entities or arrangements that contravene the rules of international law and relevant UN resolutions, reiterating that East Jerusalem is Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, and that any steps aimed at changing its legal and historical status are considered invalid and void and produce no legal effect."
The ministers emphasized their full support for the unity and sovereignty of Somalia and the integrity of its territories, and their complete rejection of any unilateral actions that affect the unity of Somali territories or undermine its sovereignty.
