Continuous Israeli Attacks on Lebanon: Martyrs in Nabatiyeh and Tyre

SadaNews - Israel has continued its attacks on Lebanon through a series of airstrikes and ongoing shelling targeting several towns in the south of the country, leading to widespread destruction of residential buildings and medical and commercial institutions, amid the ongoing violations of the fragile ceasefire that has been in effect since April 17.

On Sunday, Israeli warplanes launched successive strikes on the towns of Haboush, Kfar Roummaneh, Tull, and the city of Nabatiyeh, while other strikes targeted the vicinity of the roundabout and Marj Harouf, causing extensive damage to dozens of shops, restaurants, and institutions. An Israeli airstrike also targeted the regional civil defense center in Nabatiyeh, leading to the complete collapse of the building and damage to several vehicles and equipment.

On Saturday, Israel killed about 20 people and injured at least 40 others in 40 attacks that included airstrikes, artillery shelling, and explosions in southern and eastern Lebanon; in response, Hezbollah announced the execution of 12 military operations, which it stated were in "response to the enemy's violation of the ceasefire," including targeting positions, vehicles, Iron Dome platforms, jamming devices, and Israeli drones.

In parallel with the escalation on the ground, communications related to a proposal to extend the ceasefire between the United States and Iran and to enter into detailed negotiations that may last for about 60 days continue, amid assurances from Hezbollah and Tehran that Lebanon is included in the agreement currently being formulated. Hezbollah stated that its Secretary-General, Naeem Qassem, received a message from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, confirming that Tehran "will not abandon" its support and that the last Iranian proposal to end the war with Washington emphasized including Lebanon in the agreement.
