Report: America and Iran are Approaching an Agreement to Extend Ceasefire for 60 Days
SadaNews - The "Financial Times" reported today, Saturday, that the United States and Iran are on the verge of reaching an agreement to extend the ceasefire between the two parties for 60 days, as part of efforts to reduce tensions in the region.
According to the same sources, the potential agreement may include gradual steps to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to shipping traffic, alongside security and economic arrangements between the two sides.
Reports also indicated that Washington may seek to ease restrictions imposed on some Iranian ports in exchange for progress in gradually reopening the strait.
In the same context, sources indicated that the United States may also agree to partially ease some sanctions imposed on Iran, as part of a broader understanding related to de-escalation.
