Iranian Foreign Ministry: Negotiations Focus on Ending the War
SadaNews - With the arrival of the Pakistani Army Chief, Asim Munir, in Iran as part of the mediation efforts led by Islamabad between Tehran and Washington, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ismail Baqaei, clarified that the focus of the negotiations is on ending the war.
Baqaei stated on Friday that a Qatari delegation is currently in discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, adding that Pakistan remains the main mediator in the negotiations, according to Reuters.
He pointed out that "we cannot necessarily say that we have reached a point where an agreement is close."
He continued: "We cannot say that we will definitely reach a conclusion after a few visits or talks over the weeks or months; diplomacy takes time."
The Nuclear File
Meanwhile, Baqaei noted that "details related to the nuclear file are not being discussed at this stage."
He also emphasized, saying: "We will not reach a conclusion if we try to delve into the details regarding highly enriched uranium in Iran."
