Netherlands Imposes Ban on Importing Settlement Products from the West Bank
SadaNews - The Dutch government approved on Friday a ban on the import of goods produced in settlements in the West Bank.
Prime Minister Rob Jetten announced that this step aims to prevent any contribution from his country to any economic activities that legitimize the occupation of the West Bank.
According to Reuters, the ban is expected to take effect later.
Last September, the Dutch Foreign Minister told parliament that the government intends to prohibit the import of goods from Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel due to Israel's plans in the West Bank and its military attack in Gaza.
In July of last year, the Netherlands imposed a ban on entry for two ministers in the far-right Israeli government, accusing them of inciting violence against Palestinians and calling for "ethnic cleansing" in Gaza.
