Organization of Islamic Cooperation Condemns Israeli Occupation's Attack on the Fleet of Resilience Heading to Gaza Strip
SadaNews - The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation expressed its strong condemnation of the crime of attack, violence, and humiliation perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces, under the supervision of the extremist "Minister of Internal Security" Itamar Ben Gvir, against the "Fleet of Resilience" that was carrying international activists and urgent humanitarian and relief assistance to the Gaza Strip.
The General Secretariat emphasized that this heinous attack constitutes an act of organized terrorism added to the record of repeated crimes committed by the Israeli occupation, targeting humanitarian institutions, convoys, and workers in the field of providing humanitarian assistance, and depriving civilians of basic goods and services in the Gaza Strip, in gross violation of the rules of international humanitarian law and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The General Secretariat holds the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the lives and safety of the participants in this humanitarian convoy and reiterated that the continuation of the illegal Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip amounts to a war crime and collective punishment that warrants accountability under international criminal law.
The General Secretariat called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities to ensure the commencement of the second phase of the peace plan under Security Council resolution 2803, which ensures the opening of all crossings, respecting and protecting humanitarian aid workers, and providing adequate and unobstructed humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip.
