Difficult Call Between Netanyahu and Trump Regarding Iran

Translation by SadaNews - Hebrew Channel 12 revealed on Wednesday evening a tense call described as "difficult" between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to the Hebrew channel, as translated by SadaNews, the conversation centered around a new draft that several Arab and Islamic countries are promoting in order to reach a consensus between the United States and Iran to prevent renewed war, according to three sources familiar with the details of the conversation.

Trump told Netanyahu during the call that mediators are working on what he called a "document of intentions" that would be signed by both the United States and Iran.

An informed American source stated that this document could lead to the end of the war and the start of another round of negotiations lasting 30 days on issues such as opening the Strait of Hormuz and the Iranian nuclear program.

On the other hand, Netanyahu was extremely skeptical about this issue and wants the United States to continue to exert military pressure on Iran to weaken the regime.

Two Israeli sources familiar with the content of this conversation indicated that the matter was not simple, and Trump and Netanyahu disagreed on how to proceed regarding the Iranian issue.

The American source said that the Israeli ambassador in Washington informed several members of the U.S. Congress after the conversation that Netanyahu emerged from it concerned about the negotiations between the United States and Iran.

When Trump was asked today about his conversation with Netanyahu, he said: "Netanyahu will do everything I tell him regarding Iran."

The Netanyahu office declined to comment on the matter, and a spokesperson for the Israeli embassy denied that Ambassador Dermer informed U.S. lawmakers that Netanyahu was worried about the conversation, while the White House also refrained from commenting.
