The Terrorism of Settlers in the West Bank.. Thousands of Attacks and Villages Erased Under State Protection

SadaNews - In a shocking analytical article published by the newspaper "Haaretz" by Israeli journalist Amira Hass, the tragedy of the occupied West Bank is illustrated through numbers that reflect a horrifying reality.

Under the title "Thousands of Attacks.. Hundreds of Children Displaced from Their Homes.. 64 Dead.. One God", the writer dismantles the systematic mechanism of settler terrorism, asserting that these are not merely random assaults, but a policy driven by government support to evacuate the land of its original inhabitants in favor of the "Future Villas" for settlers.

The data documented by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) between 2023 and 2026 reveal a frightening escalation of this policy; settlers carried out 5,375 attacks that resulted in casualties, injuries, livestock theft, and property destruction.

This trend jumped from 1,291 attacks in 2023 to 1,835 in 2025, reaching nearly 800 attacks in the first months of this year alone, without including the tens of thousands of nighttime raids conducted by the occupation army.

Hass points to the "blood bill"; 64 Palestinians were martyred during these assaults, of whom 36 were killed directly by settlers' gunfire, and 17 by soldiers assigned to protect the attackers, while about 5,000 others were injured amid media indifference that swallows the victims in a "black hole of oblivion".

The most severe impact is represented by forced displacement; nearly 6,000 Palestinians were forced to leave their homes, including about 2,000 people – half of whom are children – who were displaced in just the last four months.

This settler terrorism has resulted in the complete evacuation and dismantling of 45 villages, with the Ramallah and Nablus governorates topping the list of targets.

This article represents a damning testimony from the heart of Hebrew journalism affirming the role exchange; the Israeli ruling institution embraces and supports these settlers to accomplish what official tools were unable to achieve publicly.
