Syrian Defense Ministry Announces Soldier Killed by Car Bombing in Damascus

A military source stated that an explosive device hidden inside a car targeted the "Weapons Management Center" in Damascus, according to reports by the Reuters news agency. Meanwhile, the Syrian Civil Defense reported at least one death resulting from the blast, in addition to several injuries.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) briefly reported earlier that "an explosion was heard in Damascus, with the nature of it being investigated."
Activists circulated videos on social media showing thick smoke rising from the explosion site, coinciding with the sound of gunfire and the movement of ambulances in the area.
No official statements have yet been released by Syrian authorities detailing the operation or the extent of the casualties, while the area surrounding the explosion site is experiencing tightened security measures and intensified movements from security forces, according to the "Syrian TV" website.
