Kremlin: Putin Heads to China for a Two-Day Official Visit
SadaNews - The Kremlin announced today, Saturday, in an official statement that Russian President Vladimir Putin will make an official visit to China spanning the days of May 19 and 20.
The Kremlin's statement on its Max app channel stated: "At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin will make an official visit to the People's Republic of China on May 19 and 20."
The statement added that Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping will discuss bilateral relations and exchange views on key international and regional issues.
According to the statement: "The visit program also includes a meeting with the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Li Qiang, during which the prospects for trade and economic cooperation will be discussed."
The Kremlin noted that "following the talks, a joint statement at the highest level is expected to be signed, in addition to a number of joint intergovernmental documents between the administrations, and other documents."
It is worth mentioning that this visit coincides with the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation between the two countries, and comes just a few days after U.S. President Donald Trump's two-day visit to China.
