UAE Affirms Commitment to Safeguarding Regional Security and Countering Iranian Threats
SadaNews - The UAE confirmed, late Friday - Saturday, its continued approach to supporting the security and stability of the region, in coordination with regional and international partners, amid rising tensions and threats in the area, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining regional security and protecting the people of the region from the consequences of conflicts.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned "in the strongest terms" the Iranian assaults and threats targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, noting that the attacks included the launch of nearly 3,000 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones directed at the state, resulting in casualties and injuries to civilians, as well as damage to civilian infrastructure.
The ministry stated that these attacks represent a "clear violation of the sovereignty of states and a direct threat to the security and stability of the region," emphasizing that all measures taken by the UAE were part of defensive steps aimed at protecting its sovereignty, its civilians, and its vital infrastructure, in accordance with the state's right to safeguard its national security and ensure its stability.
Abu Dhabi stressed that it retains all its sovereign, legal, diplomatic, and military rights to face any threat or hostile act, asserting that "attempts to exert pressure or promote malicious allegations" will not affect its steadfast positions and will not deter it from protecting its supreme national interests and preserving its sovereignty and independence of decision.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also affirmed the continuation of close coordination and consultation with the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in addition to regional and international partners, in support of the security and stability of the region and to enhance joint Gulf action, at a time when the region is facing increasing security challenges that require further cooperation and collective coordination.
