Bahrain Revokes Citizenship of 69 Individuals for Praising Iranian Aggressions

SadaNews - Bahraini sources reported that the authorities in Bahrain have revoked the citizenship of 69 individuals for their sympathy towards and praise of the hostile actions carried out by Iran against Bahrain.

The sources stated on Monday that in accordance with the royal directives, citizenship has been revoked from 69 individuals of non-Bahraini origin for their sympathy and glorification of the unlawful Iranian hostilities.

Iran has launched repeated attacks on Bahrain and other Gulf states during the war it waged against the United States and Israel.

Last week, Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa tasked Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to immediately begin taking strict measures against those involved in undermining the nation's security, including reviewing their eligibility for Bahraini citizenship.

Bahrain News Agency quoted King Hamad during a meeting with senior officials in the kingdom, stating that the state is decisively addressing the repercussions of the war, noting the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's assignment during the upcoming phase to "implement comprehensive and decisive measures by establishing appropriate programs to address any deficiencies identified, whether defensive or economic."

This also includes the "immediate initiation of necessary actions against those who conspire to betray the homeland or undermine its security and stability, and reviewing those who deserve Bahraini citizenship and those who do not, so that the necessary procedures can be applied to them, especially since the situation remains sensitive, and we must adhere to what our national conscience dictates, based on the fact that the homeland is a great trust in honor and convention, and there is no leniency in neglecting it or failing in its duties."
