Hamas Reveals Details of Its Leadership Meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister
SadaNews - A leadership delegation from Hamas, headed by Khalil Al-Hayya, the movement's chief in Gaza, met today, Wednesday, in the Turkish capital Ankara, with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The Hamas delegation included Al-Hayya, Zahir Jabareen, the head of the movement in the West Bank, Hamas Political Bureau member in Gaza, Bassem Naeem, and the movement's representative in Turkey, Mousa Akkari.
The Hamas leadership delegation discussed with the Turkish Foreign Minister the developments regarding the implementation of the agreement to end the war on Gaza, as well as the political and field situation.
Al-Hayya informed the Turkish foreign minister about the resistance's commitment to the terms of the ceasefire agreement, warning of the ongoing Israeli targeting and repeated violations in Gaza, which aim to hinder the transition to the second phase of the agreement and undermine the existing understandings. This was also mentioned in a Hamas statement.
He also reviewed the details of the worsening humanitarian crisis, indicating that the relief aid entering the Gaza Strip does not meet the minimum of needs; as 60% of the trucks permitted by the occupation are for commercial goods, not humanitarian aid, depriving the largest segment of Palestinians from obtaining their basic needs for food, medicine, and emergency shelter.
The meeting also examined the developments in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, with the Hamas delegation emphasizing the seriousness of the occupation's criminal practices against the Palestinian people and Islamic and Christian sanctities, as stated in the text of the statement.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the path towards achieving Palestinian national unity to confront the plans aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause.
For his part, Fidan affirmed Turkey's consistent stance in defending the rights of the Palestinian people and the continued Turkish efforts to provide relief support and secure urgent housing needs for the residents of the sector.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Hamas leadership delegation expressed its appreciation for Turkey's responsible role and the supportive positions of the Turkish leadership for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their national constants.
