"Transport" Announces Start of Implementing License Fee Discounts for Employees and Retirees from Their Dues
Economy SadaNews - The Ministry of Transport and Communications, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and Planning, announced today, Tuesday, the start of implementing the mechanism to benefit from the directives of the Prime Minister and the decision of the Cabinet regarding the discount of vehicle registration fees and driving licenses for public sector employees and retirees from their due amounts at the Ministry of Finance and Planning.
The ministry stated in a statement that this decision comes in line with the Palestinian government's efforts to support public employees in light of the current financial conditions, enhancing their job stability and the continuity of public services. This mechanism has been adopted to enable the utilization of the Cabinet’s decision concerning license renewals from the dues balance.
The ministry clarified that the beneficiary of this decision must be an active public sector employee or a retiree, and must have verified dues at the Ministry of Finance and Planning. Furthermore, the vehicle must be registered in the name of the beneficiary, and the type of vehicle must be a private one.
Regarding the mechanism of benefit, the ministry requires the personal attendance of the beneficiary at the offices or directorates of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, as well as presenting a recent payslip duly stamped by the employer (retirees are exempt from this requirement), in addition to fulfilling the licensing conditions and procedures approved by the ministry.
The ministry emphasized its commitment to facilitating procedures and providing the best services to citizens, in accordance with governmental directives and enhancing the efficiency of service delivery.
