Israeli Occupation Army Announces Assassination of Hamas Leaders

SadaNews -  The Israeli occupation army announced on Sunday that its forces have assassinated field leaders from Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The occupation army stated that the leaders, Muhammad Najeeb Ashour, a commander of a faction of the elite unit of Hamas's military wing, and Tamer Said Abu Nahl, a commander of a cell within the movement's military wing, were eliminated.

It claimed that "the two elements were involved in pushing plans to carry out attacks against its forces and posed a direct threat to the soldiers, before they were targeted in precise strikes," according to its statement.

The Israeli army added that its forces under the southern command are still deployed in the area, according to the ceasefire agreement, and will continue to work to eliminate any immediate threat.

A ceasefire was announced in Gaza in October 2025, based on a plan by U.S. President Donald Trump, which calls for a complete end to the war and the reconstruction of Gaza.

However, in reality, Israel continues to strike the region almost regularly, claiming the lives of martyrs and wounded and causing further destruction, while the suffocating humanitarian crisis remains ongoing.
