A Delegation from An-Najah National University Visits the University of Sharjah and Sheikha Jawaher Center for Palestinian Studies to Enhance Academic and Research Partnerships
SadaNews - A delegation from An-Najah National University visited the University of Sharjah, where a meeting was held at the Sheikha Jawaher Center for Palestinian Studies to discuss ways to develop academic and research partnerships between the two sides.
The delegation included Professor Ahmed Al-Sarghali, the President's Advisor for Public Relations and Marketing Communications, Professor Dr. Walid Swaileh, Dean of Scientific Research and Director of the Global Academic Rankings Department, and Mr. Jalal Salman, Coordinator of the Activities and Protocol Unit in the Public Relations Department.
At the beginning of the visit, the An-Najah National University delegation conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Professor Rami Hamdallah, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the An-Najah National University Hospital and Vice Chairman of the University Board of Trustees, to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah, and to Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al-Qasimi, Chairwoman of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, in appreciation of their role in supporting higher education and enhancing academic initiatives related to the Palestinian issue.
During the meeting, the possibility of implementing joint projects in the areas of documenting Palestinian heritage, archiving preservation, and supporting studies related to the Palestinian issue was discussed. The center also expressed its readiness to support graduate students, especially if their research is related to Palestinian heritage and its archives.
Attendees included representatives from Birzeit University, including businessman Mr. Abdul Jabbar Awda and Ms. Rula Qurt, Director of Resource Enhancement, within the framework of Palestinian universities' interest in enhancing joint academic cooperation and developing research initiatives that serve national issues.
An-Najah National University considers its collaboration with the University of Sharjah an important step towards enhancing joint Arab academic work, and it values the role played by the Emirate of Sharjah in supporting the Palestinian higher education sector through initiatives that contribute to the development of scientific research, support academic competencies, and enhance institutional cooperation.
The university emphasizes its keenness to expand its cooperation with universities and research centers in the Emirate of Sharjah, in a manner that serves the development of academic programs, enhances joint scientific research, supports graduate students, in addition to implementing joint projects focusing on documenting Palestinian heritage.
The university delegation concluded the visit by stressing the importance of building on these meetings to enhance the presence of An-Najah National University regionally and expand its partnerships in line with its mission to support scientific research and serve the community.
