Report: The Israeli Army Prepares for Possible Ongoing Tension with Iran for Months

SadaNews - The Israeli army is preparing for the possibility of ongoing tensions with Iran, following threats from U.S. President Donald Trump to wage war against it in the upcoming period according to assessments from the General Staff.

The newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" reported today, Monday, that contrary to "the terrifying briefings" coming from the Israeli political level regarding an imminent comprehensive war, the spokesperson for the Israeli army, Efi Dvirin, sent messages of reassurance last Friday about the continuation of the normal situation, alongside the army's monitoring of developments in the region.

The Military Intelligence and Air Force, expected to lead the war against Iran if it breaks out, have developed "patterns for managing the tense situation without harming operational routines and preparations, and without eroding the incentives for forces, especially in reserves, allowing for a long breath for soldiers to continue in the current situation in the coming months as well."

The newspaper added that in Military Intelligence and the Air Force, as in the rest of the army, requests from soldiers to go on vacations abroad are being approved, except for those holding highly important and sensitive positions, "and in the Air Force, regular maneuvers and scheduled training continue."

In the meantime, the Israeli Air Force is receiving new ammunition, according to the newspaper, and conducts daily exercises simulating potential events in the upcoming war "to enhance preparedness in defense and attack," while air defense systems, "Iron Dome," "Arrow," and "David's Sling," have been on high alert since the beginning of the tension.

The newspaper noted that in the Israeli army, lessons from the past two years of war are being applied in these weeks, "therefore they are not rushing to mobilize the military establishment so as not to unnecessarily scare the public, and not to exhaust the forces without a purpose," including not calling up reserve forces in the Home Front Command since the beginning of the tension with Iran.

The newspaper added that normalcy continues in the northern command, with no restrictions imposed on hikers and farmers in areas near the border, and no additional forces have been mobilized beyond those already present, noting that their size currently is double or more than it was before the recent war.

However, in Israeli Military Intelligence, they are currently gathering sites in Iran to enter them into a "target bank" for potential strikes during a possible war, and to activate a "command center" for all fronts, not focusing solely on Iran, claiming that relatively calm areas, such as the West Bank and Jordan, may witness escalation before any action against Iran.

Ground forces have been conducting ongoing training in recent weeks under a plan to execute a ground invasion in Lebanon, according to the newspaper, and these exercises are ongoing with the participation of reserve brigades, such as the Fifth Brigade, in the occupied Golan Heights, alongside military operations at the border with Syria, with regular Israeli forces from parachute brigades and units from "Golani" and 401 participating in these exercises, training in areas similar in terrain to southern Lebanon.
