UN Human Rights Commissioner: The world is witnessing the fiercest competition for power in 80 years
SadaNews - The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights stated on Monday that the world is witnessing the fiercest competition for power and resources since World War II, with widespread violations of rights in conflicts occurring in Sudan, Gaza, Myanmar, and Ukraine.
He added at the opening of the Human Rights Council: "A fierce competition for power and control over resources is unfolding on the global stage at a rate and intensity we have not seen in the past 80 years."
He pointed out that the situation in Gaza remains catastrophic and that the allowed humanitarian aid is insufficient to meet the enormous needs.
