New Assassination Attempt? Announcement of the Death of an Armed Man Who Tried to Break into Trump's Residence

SadaNews - The U.S. Secret Service reported today, Sunday, that its agents shot and killed an armed person who entered the residence of President Donald Trump unlawfully in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

Trump was in Washington at the time of the incident, around 6:30 AM Greenwich Mean Time (8:30 AM Jerusalem Time), according to officials.

Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesperson for the agency, wrote on the "X" platform, "An armed individual was shot and killed by Secret Service agents after unlawfully entering the secure area of Mar-a-Lago this morning."

The agency stated in a bulletin that "the suspect, a young man in his early twenties, was seen at the north gate of the Mar-a-Lago resort carrying what appeared to be a hunting rifle and a container of fuel."

The security personnel confronted the suspect and opened fire on him, with no agents being injured.

Trump had previously been the target of two assassination attempts.

Earlier this month, Ryan Roth, 59, was sentenced to life in prison for plotting to assassinate the president at a golf course in Florida in September 2024, just two months before the U.S. presidential elections.

This followed an assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania two months prior, when 20-year-old Matthew Crooks fired several shots during a campaign rally for the Republican candidate at the time, one of which grazed Trump's right ear with minor injury.

This attack, which resulted in the death of one of the rally participants, marked a turning point in Trump's return to the White House.

Crooks was shot dead immediately by security forces, and his motive remains unknown.
