Prime Minister Directs Various Institutions to Enhance Readiness to Handle Developments

SadaNews - The Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa directed various public institutions to raise the level of preparedness and readiness in medical facilities, civil defense, security agencies, and various vital sectors, implementing President Mahmoud Abbas's directives on the necessity to ensure the continuity of basic services, maintain security and stability, and enforce the law.

This came during his chairing of a government emergency cell meeting held today, Saturday, which included ministers and directors of vital sectors.

The procedures and directives included activating emergency committees in the governorates under the supervision of the governors, enhancing the readiness of the Ministry of Interior and its various agencies to deal with any field developments, continuing the efforts of the Civil Affairs Committee and the Military Liaison to facilitate the movement of citizens and goods and the functioning of institutions, as well as directing the Petroleum Authority to organize the work of fuel and gas stations in coordination with the governors, and securing the needs of vital sectors.

It was also emphasized that a strategic stock of food and basic goods is available for up to six months depending on the item, with instructions to tighten control in the markets and prevent price manipulation.

In the educational sector, the Ministry of Education directed a shift towards electronic education for Sunday and Monday, with subsequent instructions to be issued regarding the school and university schedules based on the developments in the ground situation.

In the health sector, a state of maximum readiness was declared in various hospitals and medical centers, with the Ministry of Health confirming the securing of emergency department needs for three months and enhancing coordination with partner medical entities to ensure comprehensive health response.

As for the working hours of public sector employees, they will be in the nearest government institution to their place of residence, according to the discretion of the head of the relevant department, ensuring the continuity of basic service provision and immediate response to emergency cases, while considering the safety of employees and citizens and protecting them from any potential risks.

It was also emphasized the need for citizens to adhere to the official instructions issued by the relevant authorities in line with developments in the ground situation, reduce movement and mobility, prevent gatherings, avoid rumors and excessive purchasing, and report any cases of exploitation in the markets through the designated consumer protection number (129), affirming that the relevant authorities will deal firmly with any attempts to exploit the current circumstances.

In emergencies, and to enhance the cooperation between citizens and various relevant entities, it is essential to quickly contact emergency numbers of the relevant authorities to report any incidents, according to the following emergency numbers: Civil Defense (102), Police (100), Red Crescent (101), Military Liaison (163).
