وصول تبرع أمريكي بـ500 ألف جرعة من لقاح مودرنا المضاد لكوفيد 19 إلى الضفة الغربية اليوم

صدى نيوز - تبرّعت الولايات المتحدة اليوم بخمسمائة ألف جرعة من لقاح مودرنا المضاد لكوفيد تسعة عشر للشعب الفلسطيني في الضفة الغربية وغزة من خلال آلية كوفاكس الذي يشمل التحالف العالمي من أجل اللقاحات والتمنيع (GAVI) والائتلاف المعني بابتكارات التأهب لمواجهة الأوبئة (CEPI) ومنظمة يونيسيف ومنظمة الصحة العالمية. تساعد هذه الجرعات البالغ عددها خمسمئة ألف في تنفيذ خطة البيت الأبيض العالمية لتوزيع اللقاحات التي تم الإعلان عنها في الثالث من يونيو 2021. ويعكس التبرع التزام إدارة بايدن-هاريس بقيادة الاستجابة العالمية لأزمة كوفيد تسعة عشر وتعزيز العلاقة بين الولايات المتحدة والشعب الفلسطيني.
 
أثناء المؤتمر الصحفي الذي عُقد اليوم في وزارة الصحة التابعة للسلطة الفلسطينية في رام الله حيث استلمت وزيرة الصحة د. مي الكيلة ود. ياسر بوزية مدير عام الصحة العامة في وزارة الصحة اللقاحات، صرّحت رئيسة وحدة الشؤون الفلسطينية بالإنابة ستايسي باريوس: "نشارك هذه اللقاحات لإنقاذ الأرواح ووضع حد للوباء." وقد استلمت. وبدورها شكرت وزيرة الصحة الكيلة الحكومة الأمريكية على هذا التبرع مضيفة: "إنّ هذه المساهمة السخية تأتي في وقتٍ مهم لتعزيز جهودنا في مكافحة أزمة كوفيد تسعة عشر في فلسطين. كما تساهم في زيادة نسبة الفلسطينيين المطعمين والتي تبلغ حاليًا ٢٢.٢ في المائة." كما شكرت الكيلة الحكومة الأمريكية على جهودها في دعم القطاع الصحي الفلسطيني.
 
 كما قال الرئيس بايدن: "منذ بداية فترة رئاستي ، كنا واضحين أننا بحاجة لمهاجمة هذا الفيروس على مستوى العالم أيضًا. إنّ هذا الأمر يتعلق هذا بمسؤوليتنا، بواجبنا الإنساني لإنقاذ أكبر عدد ممكنٍ من الأرواح  ومسؤوليتنا تجاه قيّمنا. سنساعد في إخراج العالم من هذا الوباء، والعمل جنبًا إلى جنب مع شركائنا العالميين."
 
بالإضافة إلى جرعات اللقاح، فقد قدّمت الولايات المتحدة أحد عشر مليون ونصف دولار للشعب الفلسطيني كمساعدات إغاثية مباشرة لتخطي الجائحة بما يشمل دعم المنشآت الصحية في الضفة الغربية من خلال تقديم خدمات الرعاية والوقاية من كوفيد-تسعة عشر فضلًا عن تدريب العاملين في مجال الصحة وتحسين المرافق لتقديم رعاية أفضل لمرضى كوفيد-تسعة عشر وتوفير الأدوية اللازمة. كما درّبت الولايات المتحدة ما يزيد على أربعمائة عامل في مجال الرعاية الصحية وقدّمت الدعم لأربعة عشر مشفىً في الضفة الغربية لتقوية قدرات الاستجابة المنقذة للحياة الخاصة بكوفيد تسعة عشر و لضمان قدرتهم على الاستمرار في تقديم خدمات الرعاية الصحية اللازمة للفلسطينيين. في غزة، وصلت الولايات المتحدة لنحو ألفي منزل من خلال الفرق الطبية المتنقلة التي قدّمت الرعاية الصحية للأفراد المعرضين لمخاطر عالية لمنع انتشار الفيروس بشكل أكبر. كما قدّمت الولايات المتحدة مجموعات نظافة صحية ووقاية من الاصابة لما يزيد على سبعمائة وثلاثين أسرة (أربعة آلاف ومائتي فرد) لحماية عائلاتهم من الفيروس فضلًا عن المساعدات الطارئة لأكثر من ألف وثلاثمائة وثلاثين أسرة من لشراء المواد الغذائية ومستلزمات ولوازم النظافة الصحية اللازمة لضمان سلامتهم وقدرتهم على إدارة خطر الإصابة.

تمثل جائحة كوفيد تسعة عشر تحديًا عالميًا ونحن ملتزمون بالقيام بدورنا. نحث الجميع على تلقي اللقاح في أسرع وقت ممكن فهو الطريقة الوحيدة لنهزم هذا الفيروس سويًا. شكرًا.

Jerusalem, August 23, 2021 – Today, the United States donated 500,000 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza through the COVAX facility, which includes GAVI, CEPI, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization.  These 500,000 doses help fulfill the White House global vaccine sharing allocation plan announced on June 3, 2021. The donation reflects the commitment of the Biden-Harris Administration to lead the global response to COVID-19 and further strengthen the relationship between the United States and the Palestinian people.
 
“We are sharing these vaccines to save lives and bring an end to the pandemic,” Acting Palestinian Affairs Unit Chief Stacy Barrios said today at the Palestinian Authority Ministry of Health in Ramallah where Health Minister Dr. Mai al-Kaileh and Ministry of Health Director of Public Health Dr. Yaser Bouziyeh.Minister of Health al-Kaileh took receipt of the delivery.  Minister al-Kaileh, in turn, thanked the U.S. government for the donation adding that, “This generous contribution comes at a critical time to reinforce our efforts to address the COVID crisis in Palestine. It will also contribute to increasing the percentage of vaccinated Palestinians, which has reached up to 22.2 percent in Palestine.” Al-Kaileh thanked the U.S. government  for its efforts in supporting the Palestinian healthcare sector.
 
As President Biden said: “From the beginning of my presidency, we have been clear-eyed that we need to attack this virus globally as well.  This is about our responsibility—our humanitarian obligation to save as many lives as we can—and our responsibility to our values. We’re going to help lead the world out of this pandemic, working alongside our global partners.”
 
In addition to the vaccine doses, the United States has provided approximately $11.5 million in COVID-19 related assistance for the Palestinian people.  This includes supporting health facilities throughout the West Bank by providing COVID-19 prevention and care services, training health workers and enhancing facilities to better care for COVID-19 patients, and providing essential medicines.  The United States has trained more than 400 healthcare workers and provided supplies to 14 hospitals across the West Bank to strengthen their life-saving COVID-19 response capacity and ensure that they are able to continue providing essential health care services.  In Gaza, the United States has reached nearly 2,000 households through medical mobile outreach teams who provide care to high-risk individuals to prevent further spread of the virus.  The United States has provided infection prevention and control hygiene kits to more than 730 high-risk households (4,257 individuals) to safeguard families against the virus, as well as provided emergency assistance to nearly 1,330 households for the purchase of food and hygiene items needed to ensure their safety and ability to better manage the risk of infection.
 
COVID-19 is truly a global challenge.  The United States is committed to doing its part and urges all to get vaccinated as soon as possible.  It is the only way we will defeat this virus together.

·  ​The United States also provided equipment and support to 14 hospitals across the West Bank to strengthen their life-saving COVID-19 response capacity and ensure that they are able to continue providing essential health care services to Palestinians.
 
كما قدّمت الولايات المتحدة الأجهزة والدعم لأربعة عشر مشفىً في الضفة الغربية لتقوية قدرات الاستجابة المنقذة للحياة الخاصة بكوفيد تسعة عشر و لضمان قدرتهم على الاستمرار في تقديم خدمات الرعاية الصحية اللازمة للفلسطينيين.
 
·  ​This support included providing enhancements to five Ministry of Health healthcare facilities.
 
شمل هذا الدعم تقديم تحسينات على خمسة مرافق رعاية صحية تابعة لوزارة الصحة.
 
·  ​The United States is also supporting prevention efforts in Gaza, including reaching nearly 2,000 households through medical mobile outreach teams. These teams provide medical consultations, distribute hygiene kits, and disseminate critical COVID-19 awareness messages.
 
كما تدعم الولايات المتحدة جهود الوقاية في غزة بما يشمل الوصول لنحو ألفي منزل من خلال الفرق الطبية المتنقلة. تقدّم هذه الفرق الاستشارات الطبية وتوزّع مجموعات لوازم النظافة الصحية وتقدّم رسائل هامة للتوعية من كوفيد تسعة عشر.
 
·  ​Additionally, the United States provided infection prevention and control hygiene kits to more than 4,200 individuals to safeguard families against the virus, as well as emergency assistance to more than 1,300 households through the distribution of e-vouchers in Gaza. The vouchers allow families to purchase food and other household and hygiene items needed to ensure their safety and ability to better manage the risk of infection.
