SadaNews - French President Emmanuel Macron has warned against Israel's plan regarding Gaza, indicating that it represents a "catastrophe in the making" and carries unprecedented risks. He emphasized that this strategy will lead to the first casualties among Israeli hostages and civilian residents of Gaza.

Macron added that the Israeli government is compelled to end this war immediately through a permanent ceasefire, considering that the continuation of the conflict will increase the suffering of civilians and complicate the prospects for achieving peace in the region.

In a notable move, Macron proposed the formation of an international coalition mandated by the United Nations to combat terrorism and work towards stabilizing Gaza, stressing the necessity for international cooperation to mitigate the impacts of the humanitarian and security crisis.

Macron described the Israeli plan as a "previously unprecedented declared disaster due to its seriousness," emphasizing that it is time to take urgent action to prevent further human losses and open the door to comprehensive political solutions.

Occupation of Gaza

Macron's statements came amidst the Israeli army's readiness to initiate its assault plan on the city of Gaza, and to fully occupy the devastated Palestinian territory, noting that Israel currently controls about 75% of it.

This also comes in the context of escalating international and global condemnations. In the latest of these denunciations, the World Health Organization warned that Israel's plan to fully occupy the territory is "extremely concerning and puts more children at risk" due to malnutrition and lack of healthcare. It confirmed that further military escalation will expose more children to danger, due to malnutrition and lack of healthcare.
